A fine artist and commercial illustrator, Edmiston has shown his paintings in galleries, as well as worked for advertising, editorial, packaging and book publishing clients internationally.
Primarily a traditional artist, Edmiston paints in acrylic but also works digitally when the assignment calls for it. His style can be referred to as “ideal realism”, usually emphasizing the figure with high contrast and saturated colors.
Often inspired by the world of pop culture, the artist adds his personal spin to characters and subjects from movies, comic books, toys and retro style advertising. He is possibly best known for his long running portrait series, Eyes Without a Face, a trademark style easily identifiable by tightly cropped renditions of pop culture characters.
